Second Felixstowe Strike Confirmed

September 13, 2022

Felixstowe dock workers have served two weeks notice of their intention to hold a second strike, which will commence on 27th September and run for eight days.

The action now coincides with the walk out at Liverpool which is due to commence on 19th September, but for two weeks. The workers from both ports are represented by the Unite trade union, who have declined above national average offers of wage increases from port management.

It is understood that bosses at Felixstowe decided to implement their pay offer of 7% + £500 last week, without any agreement with union leaders.  However, 82% of the workers who voted still chose to strike.

As ever Freedom will continue to monitor developments. Should you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
